Super Eagles great Kanu Nwankwo has expressed his support and goodwill towards Kelechi Nwakali’s potential move to Arsenal.

The midfielder was impressive for the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria as they won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.

Nwakali finished the tournament as the best player, winning the Golden Ball.

According to Arsene Wenger, work permit and medical issues are the only thing to be sorted before a deal will be signed.

Reports have it that Nwakali has requested the former shirt number (25) of his hero and ex-Arsenal man Kanu.

Kanu spent five years at Arsenal from 1999-2004 winning two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one Community Shield.

Reacting to the news on Twitter, Kanu said he’s happy to hear that and wished the young star a great career at Arsenal

 

That's great to hear and I wish him all the best,” Kanu wrote on Twitter reacting to the news that Nwakali wants his No-25 jersey at Arsenal.
