Sunday oliseh on Tuesday met with Jordan Ibe and his dad at Liverpool training ground to discuss the young forward's international future
New coach of the Super Eagles Sunday Oliseh has met with Liverpool Nigeria forward Jordan Ibe in a bid to convince him to chose Nigeria over England.
The 19-year-old who grew up in London has already represented England at Under-18, U19 and U20s level and has attracted attention from senior coach Roy Hodgson.
Oliseh, accompanied by his assistant Jean François Losciuto met with the forward at Melwood (Liverpool training ground) to discuss his international future and convince him to switch his alliance to Nigeria.
Ibe's father and Liverpool officials were present at the meeting.
England are however not giving up on Ibe and as the Football Association are keen to keep him within their set up.
England U-21 coach Gary Southgate and FA Technical Director, Dan Ashworth, are now likely to get in touch and counter Nigeria's overtures.
Sports journalist Calvin Emeka Onwuka talks about the meeting with the following tweets.
