John Ogu says marriage as a footballer has been great because he married the girl of his dreams
Ogu who plays his football for current Israeli Premier League champions, Hapoel Be'er Sheva and his wife, Adaolisa had their court and traditional wedding in November and December 2015 respectively.
During a chat with Pulse TV, the midfielder said being married as a footballer has been great.
“I think it feels great,” the 28-year-old midfielder replied when he was asked about being married as a professional footballer.
“The more I grow, the more I understand that I have to be responsible and have a family,” he continued.
“Having a wife is something great for me because I think I met the girl of my dreams. Since I got married to her, it’s been blessing and favour everywhere.”
Ogu in October, 2015 proposed to Adaolisa after a league game in Israel.
He celebrated his side's 5-2 home win against Maccabi Petah Tikva at the Arthur Vesermil Stadium on Saturday, October 3 by bringing out his girlfriend, Adaolisa for a surprise proposal.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Ogu can been seen on his knees in front of his girlfriend with his jubilant teammates around him. He and his wife also did a photoshoot at his club’s stadium to announce her pregnancy.
He told Pulse TV that the whole proposal strategy was planned by his friend and fellow Nigerian footballer, Tony Anthony Nwakaeme.
He further revealed that the club officials also gave him permission to propose to his partner on the pitch as long as the team wins the game of that day.
