John Ogu Gernot Rohr speaks on midfielder’s omission from Super Eagles squad

Ogu has not been included in Rohr's Super Eagles squads since the German took over as Technical Adviser.

Nigerian midfielder, John Ogu is not good enough to be in the current Super Eagles team according to Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr.

Ogu has not been included in Rohr's Super Eagles squads since the German took over as Technical Adviser.

The midfielder has been in fine form for his club Hapoel Be'er Sheva, impressing in their Europa League campaign this season.

His omission from the Rohr’s team has been criticised in some quarters by the coach does not think the midfielder is good enough to be called up.

"I know him very well in Israel, but he's not better than the players I have here. I have a good team," Rohr said when he was asked about the midfielder.

"If I listen to journalists we have 100 players not in this squad. But we cannot bring in everybody. So let's focus on this squad."

The midfielder, however, has put his disappointment aside to wish the Super Eagles good luck in their clash against Zambia.

 

Thank you to everyone for their support and Wishes. I appreciate. Please let's support our boys in duty against Zambia. We shall  shine,” the midfielder wrote on Twitter.
