Alimi has been a consistent defender in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) which has earned him call-ups to the Super Eagles.
According to two Russian clubs are interested in signing the 24-year-old in this summer transfer window.
Terek Grozny and another unnamed side from Russia are said to be impressed with Alimi’s form.
"He's on loan at Kano Pillars from Westerlo Academy of Lagos, and if an offer comes in officially then his representatives will discuss with the interested club, but for now those talks about a Russia move are not official," a source close to the player is quoted to say in the report.
If a move to Russia goes through, it will not be the first foreign sojourn for the defender who played for Ukrainian side Tavriya and Olympiakos Nicosia in Cyprus.
Alimi has also played for Shooting Stars and Sharks of Port Harcourt.
