Dutch forward on verge of joining Stoke City

Ibrahim Afellay has completed his medicals ahead of his move to Stoke City after a torrid time in Barcelona


Former Barcelona forward and Holland international midfielder Ibrahim Afellay is on the verge of joining English Premier League side, Stoke City.

The  29-year-old joined Barcelona from PSV in 2011 but failed to make much of an impact at the La Liga club.

He spent five seasons in Barcelona-during which time he had loan spells at Schalke and Olympacos- before his contract expired at the end of last season.

Afellay according to reports have completed a medical at Stoke City  ahead of the move.

He will reunite with former Barcelona teammates Marc Muniesa and Bojan Krkic at the britannia stadium.

Afellay will be the join the likes of new signings, Marco van Ginkel, Glen Johnson and Shay Given at Stoke City.
