Lyon coach Hubert Fournier lamented the back injury suffered by star forward Alexandre Lacazette late in his side's 0-0 draw against Lorient.

Lacazette hobbled off late in the draw at the Stade de Gerland, and it was after Fournier had made all three of his substitutions.

Fournier confirmed the 24-year-old, who signed a contract extension with the club on Saturday, had suffered a back injury and it hurt his team late in the game.

"He came out because he had back pain. He hurt his back after falling," he said.

"We missed him in the final minutes. We pushed but we were - at this moment - only 10 in the pitch and obviously, in the 85th minute, it counts."

Fournier was unhappy with the result as Lyon fell behind Ligue 1 title favourites Paris Saint-Germain, who beat Lille on Friday, just a game into the league campaign.

"I am disappointed with the result, although it was not an easy game," he said.

"We had opportunities with two posts. This may be a turning point of the match because after that, Lorient would have had to liberate some spaces. This goal we might have facilitated the task.

"We lacked many things to hope to win this game. The positive point is to have not conceded any goal.

"The few opportunities that we have conceded, that was a result of errors of ourselves. This is not the opponent who has created opportunities."
