Manchester United got life under Erik Ten Hag off to the perfect start after a comprehensive win over Liverpool in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Red Devils put on a show to defeat Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team 4-0 in their first preseason match.

Ten Hag lined up what looked like his best evening at the moment, with Bruno Fernandes handed the captain's armband in the absence of Harry Maguire.

The players repaid their manager with a blistering first-half performance which saw goals from Jadon Sancho, Fred and Anthony Martial give United a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the break.

In the second half, both sides made wholesale changes with Klopp forced to sub on his best stars led by Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and new signing, Darwin Nunez.

However, despite dominating most of the second half, it was United who added to the scoreline.

An excellent breakaway by Eric Bailly who saw Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo combine to make it 4-0 to United.

Mo Salah struck the post late on for Liverpool, while Nunez also came close to a goal but skied his effort from six yards out.

In the end, a very lovely win for United to begin life under the new manager, EtH, in the best possible way.

The result sees the Red Devils beat their bitter rivals for the first time in three matches. having lost all previous three and conceded 13 goals.

A good start to life for the Dutchman and his crew at United but surely he won't be carried away by the result today.
