Nigerian defender, Efe Ambrose is set to quit Celtic for Greece giants, Olympiacos sources have told Pulse Sports.

Ambrose has been with the Scottish Premier League club since his summer deadline day signing in 2012.

The defender has however fallen out of favour with new Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers who omitted him from the squad for the 5-2 home win over Israel side, Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Champions League play-off game.

Over the years, Ambrose has been known to be error-prone and was guilty again some weeks ago in Celtic’s 0-1 loss away at Lincoln Red Imps in the opening qualifying fixture of the Champions League

Sources have however informed Pulse Sports that the defender is seeking for a move away from the club with Olympiacos favourite to sign him.

A move back to Israel where he played for FC Ashdod -before his move to Celtic-was on the cards for him but he is keen on signing for Olympiakos.

“Talks are currently ongoing with Olympiacos and its going well,” the Pulse Sports source said.

Olympiacos are looking to sign the 27-year-old on a loan deal with an option to keep him permanently.

If the move goes through, the former Kaduna United defender will join compatriot Brown Ideye at the Greek club.
