Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has welcomed a baby girl with his ex-model girlfriend Carla Pereyra.
The 48-year-old manager welcomed his fifth child after his Atletico Madrid side lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Madrid Derby on Saturday, February 9.
Simeone who has had a successful managerial career at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium is known to be a charismatic motivator to his players on the touchline.
The former Argentine International, however, showed off a tender touch when he ditched his managerial attire for the hospital gown to be present at the delivery of his daughter who weighed 6lbs.
Simeone took to his official Instagram account to announce the birth of his daughter with a picture of him and Valentina, with a caption which said, “Welcome Valentina."
Pereyra shared a similar picture and caption to Simeone on her Instagram account to announce the birth of their child.
According to several reports Valentina was born on Monday, February 11 at the Monteprincipe Hospital in Madrid.
Pereyra who reportedly started dating Simeone in April 2014, earlier stated in a report by the Daily Mail that she did not mind the gender of the baby.
She said, “If it was a boy, it was ideal to have a mix but it's true that I always dreamed of having two girls and I love the idea. I'm so happy.”
Valentina is the second child between Simeone and Pereyra, as they previously had a daughter Francesca who is now two years old.
Simeone had three children with his former partner Carolina Baldini all of whom are professional footballers Giovanni who plays for Fiorentina, Gianluca and 16-year-old Guiliano both play in Argentina.
Simeone is expected to return to his managerial duties when Atletico Madrid take on Rayo Vallecano in their next league fixture scheduled for Saturday, February 16.
