Real Madrid star splashes $18.5M on New York flat

Cristiano Ronaldo has splashed $18.5m on a flat in the 'Trump Tower' in New York

 

He is one of the richest sportsman on earth, earning $73 million in the last 12 months according to Forbes.

From those earning, Cristiano Ronaldo has chunked out $18.5million for a flat in New York according to reports.

The Real Madrid star splashed the cash on the flat which is located in 'Trump Tower' which is owned by US business ,man Donald Trump, on Fifth Avenue in the Big Apple.

Ronaldo bought the flat  from Italian real-estate mogul Alessandro Proto who is a partner of Trump.

The purchase of the flat could prompt reports of Ronaldo's potential move to the MLS.

Ronaldo's current contract with Real Madrid expires in 2018 and LA Galaxy are said to be obsessed with bring him to America.

Some of world best players like Andrea Pirlo, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard currently ply their trades in the MLS after a successful career in Europe.

Ronaldo doesn't just buy houses with his money, the former Manchester United captain has been named the most charitable athlete in the world.
