Akpom netted on his debut for the Tigers in their 2-0 win over Huddersfield after completed a loan deal from Arsenal to the Championship side.
He continued the goalscoring form in Hull City's win over Accrington in Tuesday's Capital One cup clash.
Akpom gave Hull City a 1-0 lead in the 92nd minute in a game which was decided by penalties after the game ended 2-2 at the end of the extra time. Hull won 4-3 on penalties.
Akpom scored a hat-trick in Arsenal's 4-0 win over in a pre-season tournament game but was still loaned out to gain more experience.
Though the Nigeria Football Federation have been trying to convince the youngster to play for Nigeria, Akpom has in the past hinted that he may not play for Nigeria at all.
In a question and answer session on Twitter, Akpom responded when asked where he sees himself in five years.
"Hopefully still playing for Arsenal and the England senior team too. I want to emulate the Arsenal legends.’
