Arsenal beat Chelsea to trophy

Arsenal beat Chelsea by a lone goal at Wembley to win the 2015 Charity Shield

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's 24th striker for Arsenal was what Arsene Wenger needed to beat Jose Mourinho for the first in a competitive game after 14 attempts.

Chamberlain's goals was also what the Gunners needed to beat Chelsea to the 2015 Charity Shield trophy.

The talk before the game was Wenger's inability to beat Mourinho after 14 attempts.

But at Wembley, where Arsenal have now won 6 games-successive FA Cup semi-finals, FA Cup finals and now Community Shields- Wenger finally got his win.

After signing a new contract with Arsenal,  Theo Walcott started in the middle and the move paid off as he had a hand in Chamberlain's winning goal.

The striker found Chamberlain who  cut inside Cesar Azpilicueta and rifled an unstoppable left-footed shot into Thibaut Courtois' far top corner.

Chelsea missing striker Diego Costa no thanks to a hamstring injury could not fashion out an opening in the fairly organised Arsenal defence.

Loic Remy who started as Chelsea's striker was caught offside several times before he was replaced by new signing Radamel Falcao.

Ramires bent an effort around Cech’s post and perhaps should have done better with a free header from Willian’s cross as the look to come back in to the game.

Chelsea's best chance came in the second half came when Oscar bent a free-kick over the wall with Petr Cech diving to his right to make a fine save.
