Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike was on target again in Fenerbahce’s Champions League play-off defeat to Monaco on Wednesday, August 4.

Emenike netted a brace last week for Fenerbache in their home 2-1 win over Monaco.

The striker scored again on Wednesday but could not stop Fenerbahce from crashing out as they fell 1-3 to Monaco.

Moanco went two goals ahead in the first half before the former Super Eagles striker pulled one goal back for Fenerbahce.

Valere Germain however netted the winner for Monaco just minutes later.

Super Eagles left-back Elderson Echiejile was not in action for Monaco.

Nigeria international midfielder John Ogu was on the winning side as Hapoel Be'er Sheva beat Olympiacos FC 1-0.

Hapoel defender Shir Tzedek netted a 79th minute winner to take the Israeli side to the play-off round of the Champions League for the first time in their 67-year history.
