18-year-old footballer Thomas Rodriguez is dead

Thomas who played as a midfielder for the French Lower division team was confirmed dead via the clubs official Twitter account.
The Ligue 2 oufit confirmed his death with a message on the club website which said, "It is with extreme pain that Tours FC informs you of the passing of the young Thomas Rodriguez, a resident of the Formation Center, who died on the night of Thursday 8 to Friday, March 9, 2018."
Due to the death of the young defender the scheduled league game between Tours and Valenciennes had to be postponed by the The Professional Football League (LFP).
The LFP also released a statement of condolence which said, "At this moment of great sadness, the LFP extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Thomas Rodriguez, as well as to all his team-mates and to the Club of Tours FC,"
The French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 will observe a minute silence this weekend in a tribute to Rodriguez.
