Football betting tips for the weekend

Today’s betting tips include games from the UEFA Nations League, as the battle for supremacy continues in Europe.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored two goals in Nations League this season

Portugal travels to the Czech Republic in an attempt to advance, while Spain hopes to potentially book a place in the finals against Switzerland. Elsewhere, Armenia can lift themselves off the bottom of League A, Group 1, if they get an unlikely result against the Ukrainians.

Don’t forget that you can stake these games as singles or in an accumulator

The Czech Republic currently sit in third place in their group, having accumulated four points from four games. However, they are just one point ahead of Switzerland in the relegation spot, while still carrying a slim hope of making it to the finals, albeit unlikely. Jaroslav Silhavy's side are unbeaten in their last four home games in the Nations League and they have scored in each of those games - a feat they will hope to continue against the Seleção.

Portugal, on the other hand, are second in the group, with a good chance of making it to the finals if results go their way. Fernando Santos's men defeated the Czechs 2-0 back in June, and will be hoping for more this weekend.

The Czech Republic have gone six games without a clean sheet in all competitions.

La Roja are top of their group, with their fate firmly in their hands. Having accumulated eight points from four games, Spain could confirm their place in the Nations League finals if they win against the Swiss and the Czechs do them a favour by beating Portugal. However, it's quite straightforward for the Spaniards; win the last two games and they will be in the finals.

While their hosts are fighting for the right to advance in the competition, Switzerland is on the verge of being relegated to League B. A defeat for the Red Crosses could see their relegation confirmed if the Czechs pull off a win against the Portuguese. However, it’s not all gloom for Murat Yakin's side, as an unlikely win against the Spaniards could help their course. With the Czech Republic ahead by just a point, victory for the Swiss and defeat for the Czechs could see them swap spots ahead of the final match day.

Spain have not lost in their last eight games in all competitions and have not suffered a home defeat since October 2018.

Armenia is on the verge of relegation to League C this season after cruising from League D to League B with back-to-back promotions. The Mountaineers followed an opening day win against the Republic of Ireland with three consecutive defeats that have left them at the bottom of their group. However, they could turn things around if they manage a win against Ukraine. With the Republic of Ireland in third place and ahead of Armenia by a point, the relegation spot could be a straight battle on the final match day.

Ukraine ceded the top spot to Scotland with a 3-0 defeat at Hampden Park on Wednesday. This defeat means gaining promotion is now dependent on results from games involving the Scottish. At the very least, the Ukrainians must do their part by winning their last two games while hoping for favourable results elsewhere.

Ukraine has not lost to Armenia in their last five meetings
