Manchester City vs PSG
Betting Preview: 4 sure-looking outcomes from Wednesday's Champions League
The quest for qualification into the next phase of the European club competition continues, giving punters more winning opportunities.
The Citizens enjoyed a 4-1 aggregate victory over the Parisians in last season's semi-finals, but were brought back to earth with a 2-0 loss in Paris in the earlier group fixture.
City are currently top of Group A with nine points, and a win on home soil will cement top spot.
Pep Guardiola's side have scored 15 goals in the Champions League this season, the most of any team after Bayern Munich. With an average expected goals (xG) of 3.4, such goal outcomes won't be out of place at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
Atletico Madrid vs AC Milan
Los Rojiblabcos had it rough in their double header against Liverpool, failing to claim any point.
It takes them back to the reverse game against the Rossoneri where they triumphed 2-1 at the San Siro for their last and only victory in Group B.
Milan are having a terrible return in the Champions League after seven years, with just a solitary point from four games and it looks to get worse for them.
Worse because Atletico have a 100% record against them in the European competitions (3/3). The Italians have also lost on each of their last five trips to Spain, the most recent ironically being a 4-1 loss at Atleti in March 2014. All of this tilts towards what should be a comfortable victory for Diego Someone's men.
Prediction: Atletico Madrid to win
Liverpool vs FC Porto
The Reds enjoy a 100% record in Group B and are guaranteed top spot.
They made a meal of Porto in the corresponding fixture in Portugal, with the front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all netting in the 5-1 win.
Porto are presently second in Group B, one point ahead of Atletico Madrid. It is however going to be a long night for them at Anfield, owing to the fact they have lost four in five European meetings (D1) under Klopp as Liverpool boss. Porto have also lost 18 of their 22 away games against English sides (W1 D3).
Anything other than a Liverpool win on Wednesday would be a shock.
Prediction: Liverpool to win
FC Sheriff vs Real Madrid
The Moldovan side caused one of the biggest upsets in the Champions League when they defeated Los Blancos 2-1 at the Bernabeu in the reverse game.
Madrid have since readjusted to see off Shakhtar Donetsk over two legs by an aggregate score of 7-1 and are top of Group D, while Sheriff suffered back-to-back defeats against Inter Milan 6-2 on aggregate.
The Champions League debutants can still qualify out of Group D as they sit in third place, just one point behind second-place Inter, but there is no certainty of their repeat heroics against Madrid, as the Spanish giants have improved since then with six wins in their last seven matches in all competitions (D1).
As much as Sheriff are outright underdogs for this match, they have been a very confident side, evidenced by them scoring in every single Group D game. With home advantage here, it is a high probability for both sides to find the back of the net in Tiraspol.
Prediction: Both teams to score
