Manchester United striker wins PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award

Anthony Martial has been voted the winner of the PFA Fans' Player of the Month of September

After an impressive start to his Manchester United career, Anthony Martial has been voted the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month.

The France international joined Manchester United on deadline day in an initial £36million deal.

The high transfer fee for the 19-year-old was the major talking point before his debut but he has silenced critics and pundits with his performance.

He scored a fantastic solo goal on his debut against Liverpool, and also netted a double in the 3-2 win over Southampton.

His impressive start has earned him a PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award.

He beat the likes of Riyad Mahrez and West Ham new boy Dimitri Payet to win the award.

The shortlist for the award are drawn up by expert panel of judges of Sky Sport.

Sky Sports pundits Paul Merson, Ian Holloway and Peter Beagrie are part of the panel.

They are joined by Mike Riley, general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials, and Malcolm Clarke, chairman of the Football Supporters Federation.
