Alisson Becker previously played for Brazilian side Internacional and Italian side AS Roma before his move to the Premier League with Liverpool.

Alisson started his youth career with Internacional in 2008 and was given his professional debut by the club in 2013 after growing through the ranks and displaced the legendary Dida in goal.

He left Internacional in 2016 for his first move abroad to the Italian Serie A, before signing for Liverpool.

Alisson played for the Brazilian youth set up’s at the U-17 level  and at the U-23 level, he was part of the team that won the Toulon Tournament in 2013.

He was then brought in initially for the Copa America Centenario in 2016 but did not feature in any of the games.

He made his debut under Dunga during the World Cup qualifying campaign where he gained the starting spot even though Tite was brought in as a new manager he was still the man in goal for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

4.    Alisson Becker’s empty trophy cabinet

Alisson Becker’s rise to greatness in recent years is undermined by his empty trophy cabinet.

The 25-year-old won the Campeonato Gaúcho in the four seasons he spent at International but failed to lift major honours such as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores.

While at Roma he was unable to win the Serie A, Coppa Italia, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Champions League.

He is likened to 1994 FIFA World Cup winning shot-stopper Claudio Taffarel, Alisson was reportedly frustrated at Roma due to his insufficient game time as he played second fiddle to Wojciech Szczesny.

Szczesny’s move to Juventus last season meant Alisson was given the starting spot and justified his selection as he pushed Gianluigi Buffon as the best in Italy and was named in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season.
