Iwobi made his first appearance of the season as Arsenal lost 3-2 against Chelsea in their last encounter in which he scored a goal.
New Arsenal boss however decided to keep faith in the Nigerian midfielder by including him in the starting line up against London rivals West Ham.
The game ended 3-1 in favour of the Gunners, as a Nacho Monreal goal set up by Iwobi, an own goal by Issa Diop and a late strike by Danny Welbeck cancelled out an early lead for the Hammers from Marko Arnautovic.
Iwobi was substituted for French star Alexandre Lacazette at the start of the second half after his contribution.
