Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi says he is delighted after scoring his first competitive goal for Nigeria.

Iwobi scored in the first half as the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Zambia 2-1 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, October 9.

That was Iwobi’s first goal for the Super Eagles in a competitive game since he made his debut in October 2015.

Iwobi took to Twitter after the game to express his delight at his goal.

Happy To Get My 1st International Competitive Debut Start & International Competitive Goal For My Country As Well As A Win,” the 20-year-old wrote on Twitter.

 

Iwobi made his competitive debut for Nigeria in March 2016 in Super Eagles 1-1 home draw with Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

He scored his first Super Eagles goal in a friendly 3-0 win over Nigerian local side, Plateau United on Wednesday, October 5.

The win over Zambia gives Nigeria three points, leading Group B in the World Cup qualifiers ahead of Algeria and Cameroon.
