The 24-year-old was arrested when he returned home at 1 am on Wednesday, by two plain-clothed policewomen.
“A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning at his home address near Leicester on suspicion of common assault,” a spokesman for Leicestershire Police said.
They questioned the Super Eagles star, his wife, Jamila and his kids before he was released without charge.
According to the UK Sun, his neighbours were surprised at the incident, describing the former CSKA Moscow star as
“Ahmed is a nice guy. He always has a friendly smile. I don't know anything about his private life,” one neighbour told Sun.
“You never hear noise coming from the house. I had no idea the police had been called there,” another said.
Leicester City say they are aware of the matter and revealed that the forward will be given an opportunity to discuss the matter with the club.
“We are aware that Ahmed Musa has today cooperated with a police inquiry relating to a disturbance in the early hours of this morning,” a spokesperson for Leicester City told UK Daily Star.
“The inquiry has since been closed and no further action is to be taken.
“We see no reason for formal action internally, though Ahmed will be given the opportunity to discuss the matter with football management when the squad return.”
Musa joined Leicester City in the summer of 2016 from CSKA Moscow for a then club record of £16.6m in July 2016.
He has scored four goals in 29 appearances.
Musa and his wife Jamila have been married for several years and have two kids, their son born in 2013 and their daughter born in August 2015.
