Former Arsenal midfielder signs for Marseille

Abou Diaby has signed for Ligue 1 club Marseille after being released by Arsenal


Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has returned to his home country France, signing for Ligue 1 club, Marseille.

The 29 year old joined Arsenal in January 2006 but suffered a horrendous injury in May same year which he never fully recover from.

The French man was seen as the ideal replacement for former captain Patrick Vieira but was never fit for a long period to fulfill his potentials for Arsenal.

After suffering for about 49 different injuries in his nine years at the club before he was released.

Marseille through their official Twitter account posted a photo of Diaby posing with the club shirt after signing.

The former Gunners midfielder is heading back to his homeland to try and resurrect his injury-plagued career.
