Fans break referee's head, blood gushes out

Referee fingered for influenced play in a highly contested game

The replay game ordered by the lower league managers in Nigeria between Kwara United and Ranchers Bess of Kaduna was ended, not by the referee's whistle but by the beating of the home fans.

Ranchers’ fans marched to the pitch in protest against the official, Charles Uzigbo who rushed onto the pitch to award Kwara United a penalty in a highly tensed match.

The game was a replay of the abandoned one during the end of last season.

Charles Uzigbo was left with a bleeding head from the cuts inflicted on him by the Kaduna Boys.
