IBF Welterweight Champion, Jermaine Taylor was arrested in Arkansas for opening fire and threatening to shoot a family on Martin Luther King Jr Day parade.
Before the incident, he was on bail for a shooting involving his cousin in August last year at his home in Arkansas.
He appeared in court on Tuesday and was charged accordingly.
Consequent to Taylor’s lawyer’s claims that his actions were out of character, the judge ordered that the 36 year-old American undergo immediate physical and mental evaluation at hospital.
The Judge charged him with first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening over the August shooting: the second incident amounted to aggravated assault and endangering the life of a minor at the January 19 parade.
Taylor is expected back in court on February 10 while results for the medical examination will be represented on April 27.
