If you love and adore, The Girl on the Train,” Paula Hawkins has just announced she will release a a new suspense novel in May 2017.
The upcoming book, aptly titled Into the Water, will center on the murder of a teenage girl and a single mother, found at the bottom of a river near a small town, according to a statement by the publisher Riverhead.
The novel will “interrogate the deceitfulness of memory and all the dangerous ways that the past can reach a long arm into the present and future,” the book’s editor, Sarah McGrath, said in the statement.
The novel will hit booksellers shelves in May 2017, just two years after Hawkins become a literary sensation with her fourth book, The Girl on the Train.
Hawkins broke all kinds of sales records with the story of Rachel, a woman struggling with heartbreak, alcoholism, and a distrust of her own observations.
“For me there is something irresistible about the stories we tell ourselves, the way voices and truths can be hidden consciously or unconsciously,” she told the Associated Press.
