Policeman shot dead in Aflao

A police Constable was found dead this morning at Zorokpome, near the Aflao border

A police constable died Friday dawn after reportedly being hit by a bullet during an operation at Aflao in the Volta region.

He was found dead this morning at Zorokpome, near the Aflao border.

Report indicates that Constable Wonder Kove died from a gunshot even though the police are yet to make public the cause of his death.

The deceased, said to be in his early 30’s who was part of the Formed Police Unit of the Ghana Police Service, was killed in a raid carried out on a suspected criminal den at Zorokpome around the Aflao border in the Ketu south municipality yesterday.

It is, however, unclear where the bullet came from as a police source claimed there was no exchange of fire during the operation.

The police have began investigations into the matter.
