At least 8 reportedly wounded in shooting

Ohio State is one of the largest universities in the United States, with roughly 60,000 students on the main campus in Columbus.

Law enforcement officials are seen outside of a parking garage on the campus of Ohio State University as they respond to an attack in Columbus, Ohio, on November 28, 2016

One person was in critical condition, CNN reported, citing the Columbus Fire Department. NBC earlier reported that two were in stable condition and the conditions of the others was unknown.

The university's emergency management service urged students and staff to shelter in place.

"Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College," the service said in a tweet.
