How was Trump even on that stage?

I watched it on YouTube and I am still fuming. Trump was yelling nonsense into my ears, while Clinton calmly held her ground, keeping her composure as Trump repeatedly interrupted her, over and over and over.

Through the 90 minute debate, he interrupted her 51 times, he rambled, ranted and was full of useless opinions and blatant lies.

Clinton hands down won this debate, Trump basically unravelled on that stage and it is clear he had not prepared; he didn't know his statistics, instead kept referring to his businesses and properties through the USA - because he is a property mogul, he knows what's up, right?

Trump had to be on the defensive through the debate as Clinton put him on the spot, from “stiffing” his workers by not paying them for building projects through to not paying his federal taxes.

That, and the list of charges of racism and sexism and poor business practices through his career.

Trumps offered pointless quips like “It’s all words, it’s all soundbites,” calling Clinton a “typical politician: all talk, no action”.

But to Clinton "words matter when you run for president, and they really do matter when you are president.”

“I think Donald just criticized me for preparing for this debate. And yes I did. You know what else I did? I prepared to be president.”

When the debate got to the issue of race, almost halfway through, Clinton hammered home America's issue with racism, how it relates to education, crime and housing.

“We have to restore trust between communities and the police,” she said.

Through her campaign she is calling for criminal justice reform, and to crack down on guns in America.

In response Trump said the USA needed “law and order” and claimed a large percentage of police groups in the USA supported him. He also spoke about illegal immigrants having guns “and shooting people”.

He also claimed stop and frisk in New York worked – whereas it was ruled unconstitutional.

In another exchange between the two, Clinton accused Trump of racism for questioning Barack Obama’s citizenship.

“He has really started his political activity based on this racist lie that our first black president was not an American citizen. There was absolutely no evidence for this but he persisted year after year.”

Trump congratulated himself on getting Obama to produce his birth certification and claimed the USA's African American community were thankful to him for this.

“I think I have developed very good relations, over the last little while with the African American community.”

He really said that.

Back in 1973 he was sued for by the Justice Department not renting to African Americans, Clinton recalled.

“He has a long record of engaging in racist behaviour. And the birther lie was a very hurtful one,” said Clinton.

Getting into cybersecurity, Clinton said she was “shocked” when Trump invited Russia's Putin to hack into American's computers.

Trump's response? He's being endorsed by admirals – oh and his 10 year old son “is very good with computers”.

When it comes to the Iraq war, and Trump being on the record supporting it – which he claimed he didn't – he pulled the ol “call my friend and ask him- he'll tell you”. Kind of like kids do when they are caught out lying. In this case Trump urged media to contact Fox's Sean Hannity to vouch for him.

Closing off the debate, Trump said Clinton “doesn’t have the look and she doesn’t have the stamina...I’ve been all over the place. You decided to stay home.”

In response, Clinton said she travelled to 112 countries in four years as secretary of state, and added “When Donald Trump spends 11 hours testifying in front of a congressional committee, he can talk to me about stamina.”

She then went on to highlight Trump’s record of sexism, noting that he had called women "pigs and slobs and dogs", she also recalled Trump calling a beauty contest Miss Piggy and then Miss Housekeeping “because she was Latina”. Last week Clinton released a campaign video that highlighted Trump's misogyny.

To which Trump spent about two minutes complaining that Clinton's ads are “not nice”.

Some of the lies

International media had fact checked statements from both camps throughout the debate. It was clear Trump did not know what he was talking about and offered plenty of lies, for example, during the debate he said he was "just endorsed by ICE.”

As the UK Guardian reports, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a government agency. It does not endorse political candidates. A group of former customs officials endorsed Trump just before the debate.

Early on in the debate, Clinton said Trump had "rooted for the housing crisis". As the UK Guardian found, she was right. In a video made in 2006 for his defunct and legally embattled Trump University, Trump said he hoped for a real estate “bubble burst”.

“I sort of hope that happens because then people like me would go in and buy” property and “make a lot of money”, he said.

Then, on climate change, check out this exchange:

Clinton: “Donald says climate change is a hoax created by the Chinese.”

Trump: “I did not, I do not say that.”

He did. And here is the tweet.

When going over Trump not paying his taxes, Clinton said :“The only years that anybody’s ever seen were a couple of years when he had to turn them over to state authorities when he was trying to get a casino license, and they showed he didn’t pay any federal income tax.”

However, the UK Independent says: Clinton exaggerates here. We know of three years in the 1970s when he did pay federal income taxes. But there were at least five years in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s when Trump did not pay any, or nearly any, income taxes.

Obviously I'm not a Trump fan, I'm also not an American. Whenever I see this dried up orange peel open his mouth to spew his hate speech and absolute nonsense I feel like America is just playing a huge joke on us. While we can't vote, no matter where you are from, whoever wins this election is going to have an impact on us.

How can Americans want to be led by someone whose catchphrase is "You're Fired"?

One of his other favourite things to say is "it's a disaster" referring to anything in America he doesn't like.

Trump winning will be more than a disaster. It will be catosphic. And we will all be affected.
