There has been a reported development of massive starvation across several communities in the Upper West Region following the spillage of the Bagre Dam in Burkina Faso.
Massive starvation hit Bawku after Bagare Dam spillage
The development remains much dire as officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) say they are out of wits end over how exactly to contain the situation.

Long stretches of farm lands and houses are been submerged in the water as hundreds continue to flee the community.
Helpless NADMO Coordinator for the affected communities in Bawku West, Moses Aduk-Pam, says emergency steps need to be effected so as to restore sanity and safety. He is therefore, “calling on philanthropists and government to see if they can support NADMO in terms of relief so that we can give to the affected farmers”
In the meantime, a thorough assessment is currently underway at the disaster prone area to ascertain the extent of damage
