The outgoing Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev Prof Emmanuel Martey has revealed that a political party attempted to bribe him with $100,000 to silence him.
Politicians tried to bribe me with $100K
Rev Prof Martey said the politicians who tried to bribe him were fortunate there is no dog in his house.

“Politicians have tried all means to muzzle me, to get me but they can’t, they come with bribes, fat envelopes, $100, 000 … I want everybody to listen that politicians came to my house with $100, 000 and also with the promises that if you keep quiet, we will give you a house at Trasaaco with swimming pool.”
“We will give you Four Wheel Drive [vehicle], but you know what, these people were lucky that I do not have big dogs in my house else I would have released the dogs at them.”

The outgoing Moderator is known for his criticism of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). He was recently lambasted by members of the NDC when he promised that the Presby Church will support Nana Akufo Addo to develop Ghana if he wins the December 2016 polls.

He was speaking at a press conference held Tuesday where he also stated that he will continue to comment on national issues no matter the verbal attacks he receives.
