Travel commerce company appoints Douglas Jewson as new MD for Africa

In his new position, Jewson will be responsible for promoting Travelport's market positions in airline merchandising, hotel content distribution, B2B payments and mobile travel commerce.

A travel commerce platform, Travelport, has announced the appointment of Douglas Jewson as its managing director for Africa.

Jewson has over 20 years' experience in sales and distribution within the African telecommunications and electronics sector. He has also held various leadership roles in the region including Sony, RIM and Nokia, BizTechAfrica reports.

"Douglas is a seasoned, customer-focused leader with a track record of driving business growth and effective people management in Africa's dynamic business environment.
