A travel commerce platform, Travelport, has announced the appointment of Douglas Jewson as its managing director for Africa.

In his new position, Jewson will be responsible for promoting Travelport's market positions in airline merchandising, hotel content distribution, B2B payments and mobile travel commerce.
Jewson has over 20 years' experience in sales and distribution within the African telecommunications and electronics sector. He has also held various leadership roles in the region including Sony, RIM and Nokia, BizTechAfrica reports.
