Facebook’s Video service hits 4billion viewers per day

Tech observers say the reason Facebook's video views are increasing at a rapid rate, is that videos play automaticall.

Facebook’s  acquisition of QuickFire Networks, inventors of a processing and transcoding technology used to reduce the bandwidth needed to watch online videos, seems to have paid.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Wednesday that “Facebook is now serving up more than 4 billion videos to its users daily.”

Tech observers say the reason Facebook's video views are increasing at a rapid rate, is that videos play automatically.

Facebook recently posted revenue for the first quarter of $3.54 billion. Sources say it went up more than 40% from last year.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, while announcing the first quarter results, chipped in saying: ‘Video is a big opportunity for us.’
