A lot of innovations have been launched in the ongoing F8 developers’ conference holding in San Francisco. On Thursday 26th, another new Facebook innovation was unveiled.

Facebook CTO Mike Schroepfer revealed to attendees, the images of the social media giant;s first drone-the Aquila, a solar-powered drone. During a press conference, Schroepfer said "You have to have satellites, drones and other things that don't require the massive investments in terrestrial infrastructure in order to provide internet access for this world,"

Facebook says this innovation was handled by five new employees who were employed from drone startup company, Ascenta, last March. Schroepfer said the team of engineers built the Zephyr—a drone that could fly for two weeks on solar power alone.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says their entrance into the drone manufacturing business is a sign of Facebook's futuristic technology.
