Gadgets retailer opens new branch in Lekki Phase 1

The company opened a new branch in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, on Thursday, December 11, 2014. The event had in attendance top executives of the firm, as well as invited guests and customers.

SLOT Systems Limited is a popular accredited dealer and retailer of mobile phones and computers in Lagos.

Founded by Nnamdi Ezeigbo in 1999, SLOT Systems Limited now has branches spread across the state and other parts of Nigeria. SLOT, as it is generally called, has gained the loyalty of many gadget users in the country due to its high quality products and customer friendly services.

Some of the customers at the opening ceremony won free mobile phones during a free-for-all raffle draw.

In an interview with Pulse, head of IT, Thompson Elu, had a lot to say about the company's new branch and its plans for the near future.

Why did SLOT decide to open this new branch in Lekki, despite having branches on the Lagos island already? SLOT is all about customer satisfaction. We chose inside the Peninsula mainly because we wanted to create a standard. We wanted to do something different from the usual thing. This is an environment of professionals, so this is going to be a little different from the regular thing. We chose this place because of the kind of people here.

Since this will not be a "regular" place, does it mean the prices here will be different from what obtains in other branches? The prices will be the same, even far less.

So if a customer buys a phone here, it is going to be the same price as the ones in Ikeja? Yes. Even a little bit less.

Will there be any kind of promo for this Christmas season? Yes, there will be.

Can you give us any details? That might not really be within my jurisdiction, but what I can tell you is that there are a whole lot of discount on products like Samsung, Nokia, Infinix, and a whole lot of brands that this company will be bringing. In fact, we're forcing them to get their products to our customers.

So have you been able to force Apple to bring in some promo iPhones? Well, we're working on that. We have achieved a lot with some other goods. So concerning the Apple you mentioned, we're going to try and convince them to do something. Trust me, the customers are going to get it.

Are there all brands of phones here already or are there still some brands you are expecting? Yes. Today we just did the opening and there are some brands that are not here. LG is not yet here, and the Tecno brand is also coming soon, and even the Apple iPhone you mentioned earlier are coming too. So a whole lot of brands are still coming.

When exactly should we expect to see them here? As from next week.

What is your expectation for this branch? My expectation is very high, coupled with the fact that our purpose for opening this branch is to ensure total customer satisfaction, as well as giving the right information to them. These things are not quite easy to come by.

It seems your target customers here are the "big boys," so how come the prices will be lower than in other branches? Well, on that note, you see we can't relate with the world in that manner. There are big boys everywhere and there are small boys everywhere, so you don't say because they're big boys you have to increase your price. No, because one of our keywords is satisfaction and that is what we stand by. Our goods are for everybody. It has nothing to do with whether you are a big boy or small boy, it cuts across to everybody. We gave out a lot of phones for free today to some of our customers who showed up for the opening. Our main plan is to make all our customers happy.
