GTB to support entrepreneur showcase with $10,000

The Managing Director and CEO of GT Bank Segun Agbaje will serve as the Keynote Speaker as well as a guest judge

Winners from last years' She Leads Africa entrepreneur showcase

GTBank has partnered with She Leads Africa to support and invest in promising female entrepreneurs from across Africa. The She Leads Africa Entrepreneur Showcase will be held on Saturday September 26 at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos and is a platform established to provide young entrepreneurs direct access to investors, international media exposure and the opportunity to win a $10,000 cash prize.

As lead sponsor GT Bank is sponsoring the $10,000 first place prize along with providing marketing consulting and SME advisory support through their SME MarketHub. The Managing Director and CEO of GT Bank, Segun Agbaje will serve as the Keynote Speaker as well as a guest judge who will evaluate live the entrepreneur’s business plans.

Joining the GT Bank MD at the judges table are pan-African business leaders Tunde Folawiyo, MD of Nigerian conglomerate Yinka Folawiyo Group; Genevieve Sangudi, MD of Sub-Saharan Africa for global private equity firm Carlyle Group; Dr. Omobola Johnson, Former Minister of Communication Technology, Eme Essien, Nigeria Country Manager for the International Finance Corporation; Issam Darwish, CEO of telecommunications firm IHS Towers; and Mo Abudu, founder of Ebony Life TV.

The top six finalists for this year’s Entrepreneur Showcase are Beauty Revolution NG, Heat Free Hair, Heels in the Kitchen, Instahealth, KAMOKINI and OmoAlata. These entrepreneurs were selected from a pool of 400 applicants and have more than 10,000 customers and $3m in revenue. They have spent the past six weeks working with mentors and advisors from the Lagos Angel Network to perfect their pitch and business plan presentation.

This event is open to investors, business executives, entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and hear first hand about the next generation of African innovation.
