The CEO of Silk road- an online drug marketplace, Ross Ulbricht has been sentenced to jail for life.

The 31 year old Ulbricht, also known as the Dread Pirate Roberts made a whooping $18m while running the online drug marketplace.

Before the sentencing, he made a passionate plea to the presiding Judge,  Katherine Forrest to let him “redeem himself in the free world before he meets his maker.”

Prosecutors handling the case referred to him as the 'kingpin of a worldwide digital drug-trafficking enterprise.'

He was convicted for was convicted of hacking, narcotics trafficking, and money laundering.
