If the recent suit filed by 2shotz and his Umunnamu label, goes their way, then be sure that he’ll be listed as one of Nigeria’s youngest billionaires.
Update on 2shotz N5b suit
Three records-Come Again Remix, Fear Fear and Abia Anthem were lifted from his 2004 Commercial Avenue album by Nokia without prior notice to 2shotz Or his management.
You will recall that the singer cum Entrepreneur sued Nokia for copyright infringement, and demanded a N5b compensation. He alleged that Nokia used three songs from his album, as ringtones for NokiaX3 without his approval.
News reports reaching Pulse Tech say the date for the final hearing of the case has been fixed.
2Shotz says Nokia has been trying to stall court proceedings.
Umunamu Entertainment released an official statement saying "We wish to bring to your notice an update on the infringement case filed by Umunnamu's CEO, 2shotz, against Nokia Corporation and Nokia West Africa Nigeria Ltd. You all must have been aware that it's been about 6years now since the Nokia Phone Company infringed on 2shotz's copyright of his musical works. Three records-Come Again Remix, Fear Fear and Abia Anthem off his 2004 'Commercial Avenue' album were put up in the default media play list of the phone (Nokia X3) without prior notice to 2shotz Or his Management.
Pulse Tech has contacted 2shotz management for comments, but they are yet to respond.
