Government agency trains 50 youths on online business process outsourcing

The participants in the programme, which was declared open by Dr. Vincent Olatunji, acting director general of the Agency, were drawn from the six geo-political zones in the country.

According to media reports, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) on Monday  commenced the training of 50 unemployed graduates on Online Business Process Outsourcing.

The participants in the programme, which was declared open by Dr. Vincent Olatunji, acting director general of the Agency, were drawn from the six geo-political zones in the country.

“I am excited to declare this training open which is the second in less than two week is. I was here two weeks ago to declare open a training for People with Disabilities and now with able people. What we are doing is to affect the live of every Nigerian irrespective of status. We are to develop a globally competitive human capital with the aims of equipping with training to make them globally employable,” said Olatunji.

Furthermore the NITDA boss said the “world of work is changing and there is need to realign ourselves to the change,” adding that geographical locations should not be an hindrance to job hunting with online Business Process Outsourcing.

“As an employee, restricting your job search to companies within a reasonable commute means you are not working for the best company you can while as employer you are not getting the best people you can get," Olatunji said.

He advised participants of the training to value the training as it is key in helping them to achieve success at it.

“Only if you know this training this training can help you reach your goal of sufficiency and less dependence on the white collar jobs," he added.

Mr. Chris Okeke, director of Software and Outsourcing, also advised the participants to see a future in Online Business Outsourcing and make it a spring board for becoming employers of labour.

According to a Nigeria CommunicationsWeek report, the Agency promised to reward three outstanding trainees with a laptop each to complement the knowledge acquired.
