NIIT IT training firm is currently subsidising its scholarship fees

NIIT, one of the leading IT training firms in Nigeria, has said it will subsidize its scholarship fees to open up IT opportunities to more Nigerians. 

Onyedikachi Aruma, Head of NIIT’s Kaduna center, made the announcement adding that NIIT’s 18th annual scholarship (yes, they’ve been around for that long) is open for Nigerians who are interested in relevant developing IT skills.

However, while the annual scholarship is for all interested persons, the subsidized scholarships are only available at NIIT’s Abuja and Kaduna centers. 

The scheme is performance based. What you score in the examination would determine the discount you get as fees. What this means is that the higher your scores the higher your discount,’’ she said, according to a Nigeria CommunicationsWeek report.

Candidates will have to take NIIT’s entrance examination and they can choose from courses like Oracle, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Java and Web Development, amongst others.

The training itself will last anywhere between four months to two years — depending on which one a candidate chooses. Registration for the scholarship examination is currently but it will close on July 31, 2017 so you better hurry if you are interested. 

Our main goal is to give back to our host community, particularly as ICT is currently the driver of global economy,’’ Aruma explained.
