Toshiba Launches Satellite Radius 11 Ultrabook

Ultrabooks are an indispensable tool that is difficult to live without – especially if you happen to be a road warrior whio needs to get work done all the time, round the clock, anytime and anywhere.

Having said that, there are times when you would find a tablet to be a more suitable computing platform, which would mean you ought to carry a couple of devices instead. How about using a hybrid Ultrabook instead, which is capable of turning itself into a tablet – made fashionable by the folks over at Lenovo?

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 is one such device, being a value-for-money convertible Ultrabook that boasts of a 360 degree flip and fold design.

This device is capable of being a hybrid device, since it sports a two-axis hinge which allows it to rotate 360-degrees, so that the device can convert easily from an Ultrabook to a tablet, and all that you need to do is to push back the 11.6" touchscreen and you're good to go.

It will be powered by an Intel processor and runs on Windows 8.1 as the operating system of choice. The best part of the proposition? The Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 would come with an opening price tag of just $329.99, making it difficult to beat.

In a nutshell, the Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 would target those who happen to want a highly-portable computing device which allows them additional flexibility compared to a standard issue laptop, without having to compromise on performance. Apart from that, with a rotational screen in tow, it would be able to open up the range of possibilities for what one is able to do with it.

There is also a smart-locking feature which will automatically disable the keyboard, helping to protect the keys and prevents mishaps while it is in tablet mode.

Not only that, a full-size keyboard would also delivers an additional comfortable typing experience, thanks to the use of contoured raised tile keys with less key-bounce. Other hardware specifications include a fanless design, up to 4GB RAM, a choice of either a 32GB SSD or 500GB hard drive, a HD webcam, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, an SD memory card slot and a HDMI port. Definitely a departure from standard Toshiba Satellite offerings, right?
