Leading technology event kicks off first day of main conference

The Mobile West Africa event's main conference kicked off with the first part yesterday. The focus day aspect ofthe event had held earlier on Wednesday the previous day.

The Mobile West Africa event holding at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, continued yesterday 22nd April, 2015.

Yesterday was the first day of the main conference and was hosted by iConcepts. Speakers on the day included Kojo Boakye (Alliance for Affordable Internet), Banke Alawaye (Praekelt Consulting), Uzodinma Iweala (Ventures Africa), Rick Fant (Mozilla), Nitin Anand (Airtel), Omatsola Osawaru Barrow (MTN Nigeria), Cristobal Alonso (MoboFree), and Dr. Tunji Adegbesan (GIDI Mobile) amongst others.

The event was packed with lots of interactive sessions, exhibitions and panel discussions (which featured Toyosi Akerele – Rise Africa, and other panelists) with participants from various parts of the mobile industry being represented.

Like the focus day (hosted by Mobi Hunter) that held the previous day, various topics that across the challenges and workings of the Nigerian Mobile industry were talked on and also discussed at length.

Organisations were also represented at the exhibition stands to showcase products and services throughout the duration of today’s event. They included Stanbic IBTC, Etisalat Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, iConcepts (via the Sangalo social media network), TalkingBookz.com, Eskimi, Uber Lagos, and MyMusic.com.ng amongst others.

The Mobile West Africa event continues today 23rd April, 2015.
