New update for Windows 10 unveiled

The company revealed that users of its Office suite of applications can expect the new Office 16 software that is currently being developed and on schedule to be launched "in the second half of 2015".

Microsoft Office 2016 has been announced by Microsoft after unveiling its new Project HoloLens at the Windows 10 media event that held earlier this week.

Microsoft has also explained that it will have more to share with the public and press regards features and pricing for Office 2016 in the coming months. But has revealed more information about its new upcoming Office for Windows 10 applications that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

Office for Windows 10 is expected to launch later this year and Microsoft is planning to release a preview of the Office for Windows 10 software in the coming weeks. The new Office for Windows 10 app will be supplied pre-installed for free on smartphones and small tablets running Windows 10 says Microsoft.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, the Office Mechanics weekly YouTube show highlights the upcoming Office for Windows 10 on tablets, with Ben Walters joining Jeremy Chapman to demonstrate the new, touch-optimised Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Together with offering new information on the unique features in Windows 10 such as inking support, Insights and Tell Me.
