Mohammed believes the collapse in global crude prices and the resulting effects on the economy requires oil and gas companies to leverage the technologies of today to maximize operational efficiency.
Tech company advocates digitization in oil & gas sector, plans submarine cable extension

He highlighted critical trends in the sector such as the exponential increase in data creation, decreasing onshore production, high risk security quotients, and increasing community issues which have a negative effect on uptime and reliability.
Mohammed quoted key learnings from advanced markets including Business Process Outsourcing and reliance on real-time data, noting that Nigerian oil & gas companies have the opportunity to utilize similar strategies considering existing infrastructure and operational challenges.

The MainOne executive also announced the company's plans to extend its Nigeria-Cameroun sub-sea cable down to the oil-producing South-South region of Nigeria, emphasizing how this will significantly improve connectivity services in the Niger Delta, thereby enabling oil companies to access the Internet more effectively.
