Government completes 2 million-gallon-per-day water project in Badagry

The Managing Director of the corporation, Mr Muminu Badmus, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday.

According to him, the completion of the project would enable Iweke, Iworo and other communities in Olorunda Local Council Development Area in Badagry to enjoy potable water supply.

”The corporation is test-running the waterworks and confirming ongoing mains extension in the area through standpipes located in different parts of the communities.

”The residents will be fetching water from standpipes nearer to their houses in the meantime. This effort of bringing potable water to communities will be sustained.

”I want landlords to connect and migrate to the public potable water supply immediately to reduce illnesses that had been occurring by using contaminated borehole water.

”When the waterworks is inaugurated, the residents should ensure it is not vandalised,” the managing director said.

NAN reports that Imeke, Iworo and adjoining communities have been using borehole water.
