The new panic button feature will send the location of the driver, vehicle and passenger to the police few minutes after it is set off by the passenger.

Uber says the new safety feature has been tested in Kolkota . They plan to roll out an updated version that will place a call to the police immediately a passenger in distress presses the panic button.

This safety features will restore customer confidence in the Taxi hailing company, and also secure for it a place in what seems to be the largest market outside of the United States of America.
