Kenya Red Cross app

Kenya EMS (presumably means Emergency Medical Services) sent announcing that people will  “now be able to call an ambulance at the touch of a button”.

The app was expected to go live on the Google Playstore and the Apple App Store on April 6, 2016 and from the screenshots, it seems like the app offers more than just ambulance hailing.

Users of the app will be able to give blood, learn about first aid, make monetary donations, keep up to date with happenings, and also apply to join the Red Cross Society.READ: Social media giant starts off global effort on women's safety in Kenya

In this part of the world, emergency numbers aren't as easy to remember as those in the developed world. The amount of time it takes to get help can be greatly reduced by having an app that can just dial the number you need for you, rather than having to make a long string of phone calls before getting through to a hospital or a police station.

It will be interesting to see how this app will work for the Kenyan populace and if such innovation will be available in Nigeria anytime soon. Stay with Pulse Tech to keep you updated on the latest happenings in the Nigerian tech space and abroad.
