Industry experts say Google –plus is fighting hard and looking for a new way to relate with people in the “weboshphere,” and also remain relevant.

The social network most tech heads refer to as “sluggish,” according to mashable, announced that it would be splitting its services into two parts-streaming and photos earlier this year.

The social media platform in a move that many observers see as surprising, tweeted to followers on twitter. They claim to have created their twitter account in July 2011.

Following Stone Temple Consulting, a digital marketing agency’s report stating that the social media network had 111million users, a sharp contrast from Google-plus’ claim of having over 300million active users, tech heads have wondered if the platform is really thriving.

Google-plus’ 111million active users is a far cry, if compared to active users on other platforms like Facebook's 1.44 billion users and Twitter's 302 million die hards.
