Microsoft & Nokia Launch The New X2 Device In Nigeria

The Nokia X series now has a new addition to the family which has now been introduced to the Nigerian market.

Microsoft Devices Group has introduced a new device, the Nokia X2, which it said has strengthened the Nokia X family.

The affordable smartphone, according to Microsoft, is now available for purchase in Nigeria. The Nokia X2 boasts of upgraded specifications, more popular Microsoft services and a smoother, easier user experience.

Head of Marketing, Nokia West and Central Africa, Deborah Shepard, said that "the Nokia X2 is designed to help the next billion people connect to the mobile Internet and cloud services, affordably."

She added that the device was a response to the fantastic reception of the Nokia X family in Nigeria, The Nokia X2 is said to have enhanced features, including a larger 4.3" ClearBlack display, a 5MP rear-facing, autofocus camera with flash, as well as a front-facing VGA camera which allows userstake pictures even when the phone screen is locked.

The smartphone also benefits from a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 200 processor featuring a dual core 1.2Ghz CPU and 1GB of RAM, to make switching between favourite apps even more fluid.

There are also Microsoft services like Outlook.com, Skype and up to 15GB of free OneDrive cloud storage, while new apps like OneNote and Yammer are now available to download for free from the Nokia Store.

With Opera for Android as the device's default browser, Nokia X2 users will save data while surfing on their mobile phones thanks to the Opera Turbo compression service embedded in the Opera browser.

Adding to the fantastic features available on the device is the colourful, tile-based 'home' screen with resizable, live tiles, a unique Fastlane feature for accessing most recent apps and future appointments, a new Lumia-inspired apps list, from which people can pin items to the home screen, visual multitasking screen is accessed by long-pressing the 'back' button and a pull-down notification centre that shows connectivity, app and system alerts.

The Nokia X2 is available in all mobile retail outlets across the country in glossy green, glossy orange and black colours.
