You will soon be able to soundtrack videos you post on social network

Facebook has had to annoy and irritate its users by preventing the uploads of videos or removing those that contain label-flagged music.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

You know what would be cool to go with your many, many amateur videos posted online? A badass soundtrack, that's what. And that is why Facebook is pushing hard for a licensing deal with record labels.

If the negotiations are successful, you could be able to edit popular music into your posts or past videos with popular music playing in the background and not have them flagged or taken down.

According to Techcrunch, Facebook has been discussing with labels since at least 2015 - a New York Times report said it wanted to find a way to get music videos into people's feed.

Currently, without these deals, Facebook has had to annoy and irritate its users by preventing the uploads of videos or removing those that contain label-flagged music.

That's why that video of you and your friends goofing around in the car to Taylor Swift music got taken down - a situation that could make you reluctant to post another video.

In turn, that could deprive Facebook of its most monetizable content - video (especially user generated video)

Obviously, Facebook wants to keep pushing and protect its latest celebrity product. In it's most recent world-dominating move, it added new features to its Jobs feature that let users apply to job ads at the click of a button - thus taking a go atLinkedIn.
